KARACHI: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited’s Tameer Trust has partnered with The Dawood Foundation (TDF) to make STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and experiential learning more accessible to children from underserved communities.
Under the partnership, students from underserved communities will be sponsored to visit TDF’s MagnifiScience Centre, where they will engage with science through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities and experiential learning. The initiative aims to provide young students with opportunities to explore science in an engaging and practical environment.
Commenting on the partnership, Zubair Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer, Wafi Energy Pakistan, said the initiative would help more children experience STEM education in a more engaging and enjoyable way.
“The future of Pakistan depends on how our young people are learning and developing today. Through this partnership, we want to help more children experience STEM learning in a different way and make it more engaging and enjoyable,” he said, adding that Wafi Energy was pleased to continue its association with The Dawood Foundation in supporting initiatives that encourage young people to learn and explore through experiences.
Shafiq Ahmed, Trustee, The Dawood Foundation, said access to learning could open new possibilities for young people. He noted that partnerships such as this would enable more students to visit the MagnifiScience Centre and experience science through curiosity and exploration.
Favad Soomro, Chief Executive Officer, The Dawood Foundation, said meaningful learning experiences could have a lasting impact on how young people understand themselves and the world around them.
He said TDF’s initiatives aim to make science engaging and accessible to children from all backgrounds, adding that the partnership with Wafi Energy would create learning opportunities for students who might otherwise have limited access to such experiences.
The partnership agreement was signed by Zubair Shaikh, CEO, Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, and Favad Soomro, CEO, The Dawood Foundation.
